Procedures
- Routine EEG
Electroencephalogram (EEG): An EEG is a non-invasive test used to evaluate the electrical activity in the brain. Resting-state EEG paradigms provide a general measure of brain activity (i.e. activity that is not associated with any particular sensory modality).
- Extended video EEG (2 - 3 hours)
This test will be performed at doctor's office. A camera is used to visually record you continuously while at the same time the EEG is recording your brain activity. This test may help to introduce a new antiepileptic medication and monitor the drug effects.
- Ambulatory video EEG monitoring
An ambulatory EEG takes an accurate reading of a person’s electrical activity in the brain over a 24-hour period or longer. The hookup and taking off electrodes will be done at clinic. The rest of the monitoring period will be at patient's residential place. This test may help to differentiate or detect epileptic seizures, non-epileptic seizures, and other conditions that are not seizures and may require further testing.
- Cognitive assessment (30-45 minutes):
This is a leading web-based platform for the assessment of brain health. It allows you to obtain accurate, quantified and scientifically validated measures of key aspects of cognition, including short-term memory, attention, reasoning, and verbal ability. This test is covered by most insurance plans and is useful for evaluation of treatment or disease progress or improvement.
- CMAT (Autonomic, Vascular and Cario-metabolic Risk Assessments)
- A noninvasive diagnostic 7~10-minute test of cardiometabolic condition, focusing on early detection for heart attacks or strokes and follow-up of complications (autonomic nervous system & vascular system) of chronic metabolic diseases and revealing critical clinical data that supports the earliest possible diagnosis and treatment of secondary concerns related to health conditions.
- Indications for CMAT: Postural Tachycardia Syndrome, syncope, numbness in the hands or feet, chronic pain in the feet, pre-diabetes or diabetes, resting tachycardia, insulin resistance or impaired glucose tolerance, fibromyalgia, cardiac dysrhythmia, hypertension, severe allergic conditions, sleep apnea, and chronic fatigue syndrome.
